Through a partnership between Youth & Family and Prevention as well as other community partners, we aim to offer once per month FREE, substance free events in the community. Check our Facebook pages & in-house to see what is coming up next.
AOA Events
To foster relationships, socialization and independence we will host monthly events. From BINGO to bouquet building, potlucks and puzzle clubs, we will hope to have something for everyone to join in!
Youth Worker Cafe
Youth Worker Cafes are a collaboration with the Indiana Youth Institute to provide training & discussions on relative topics for youth workers. Lunch & Learns are scheduled throughout the year. Check back for updates on the upcoming events.
Pickleball
Pickleball is becoming the hot new game!
Pickleball is a fun and exciting sport that combines elements of Badminton, Tennis and Ping Pong. It is played on a court the size of a Badminton court, with a low net similar to Tennis, and with what looks like an oversized ping pong paddle and a whiffle ball. As one of the fastest growing sports in the nation, Pickleball can be played indoors or out by people of all ages. Our Y now has 2 outdoor pickleball courts and a modified indoor court in the Group Exercise Room.
Beginner clinics and open play times are held during the Spring-Fall months, so keep watch for the 2022 schedule. Equipment is available for us at the front desk. Grab a friend or 2 and come try out this fun, NEW sport.
Yoga
Yoga is a wonderful compliment to the dynamic and muscular styles of yoga and offers deeper stimulation to target connective tissues. This practice is suited for all levels. Instructor Lekisha Robbins has over 500 hours of Yoga Practice and provides a variety of yoga experience to her practice.

High intensity style program designed to utilize free weights, band resistance and body weight exercises.
Pump it Up
Total body, heart pumping, aerobic, strength, and conditioning workout. Interval-based class combines full-body strength training with high intensity cardio bursts.
Boxing & Functional Strength
Participants will be shown basic boxing techniques and encouraged to move and groove at their own comfort and skill level. Range of motion, balance, and stability will be greatly stressed. Not only for those living with dementia, Parkinson’s and similar debilitating illness, but also for those who wish to prevent such ailments. Functional fitness is a classification of training that prepares the body for real-life movements and activities. Movements such as squatting, reaching, pulling, and lifting will be made easier with functional fitness.
Country Dance Aerobics
Love Country Music and Dancing? This class is for you! Aerobic dancing helps to keep the arteries clear and blood vessels healthy. Performing this dance regularly will keep your cholesterol level in check. Another benefit of aerobic dancing is that it reduces stress and uplifts your mood.
Spinning
Group Cycle class that climb hills, races down flat roads and no worry about the weather! A great class for all levels. Bikes are on a first come, first serve basis.
Tabata
Tabata class will consist of 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of recovery, 7 rounds. You can expect each class to use a variety of equipment, such as lighter weights, jump ropes, resistance bands, or stability balls. This class is for all fitness levels. Timed exercises help boost metabolism, both during activity but also on rest days. This type of training helps increase lean muscle mass in a shorter amount of time.
Total Body

Silver Sneakers Yoga
Designed for Active Older Adults. Move through seated and standing yoga poses designed to increase flexibility, balance, and range of movement.
Silver Sneakers Circuit
Designed for Active Older Adults. This workout offers standing, low-impact choreography along with standing upper-body strength work, and hand held weights, elastic tubing and a SS ball.
Silver Sneakers Classic
Designed for Active Older Adults. Increase muscle strength and range of movement, and improve activities for daily living. You'll have a chair for seated exercises and standing support.
Step Circuit
Using a step platform for this class, participants will alternate cardio and strength exercises such as squats, lunges, and abdominal crunches. This class is designed to build strength and reduce body fat while increasing cardiovascular health. It is low impact and easy on the joints, targets upper and lower body muscle groups including core work.
